Debra L Brunner

Southern California native Debra Brunner is an award-winning author who writes historical mysteries and works as a school-based speech-language pathologist. Debra began crafting novels in 2019 when Ruby Ray introduced herself as an opportunity to dig into the rich history of Fullerton, her beloved hometown. However, she had barely completed the first few chapters when her plans were derailed by a breast cancer diagnosis and serious complications related to her treatment. Through years of battling heart failure, Debra’s motto has been to embrace joy whenever possible, which included publishing her first two Ruby Ray Mysteries and nearly completing the third before undergoing a lifesaving heart transplant operation. Today, she is eager to continue writing and looks forward to, once again, swing dancing with her husband at local Art Deco venues.
