Why Us Kids

Since she was five, Gracie has found the strength to share her story fearlessly, all to help other children and young adults. Her nonprofit, Why Us Kids, raises awareness of the youth mental health crisis this country is experiencing amid funding cuts and other failures in the system. She advocates for prevention versus intervention and fights to have trauma counselors in every school, starting at the elementary school level.

Gracie’s accomplishments range from speaking at Truth Pharm’s Trail of Truth in Washington, D.C., in September 2022 and 2023, to starting the first youth-led/youth-run Youth Mental Health Help Rally in downtown Franklin, North Carolina, on April 30, 2023. On top of all of that, Gracie was invited to speak in front of the Republican Study Committee, consisting of 60 congressmen, and at the Relatives Against Purdue Pharma rally in front of the Department of Justice in September 2023.
