Gideon Paull

Gideon is an engineer, developer, and writer who has spent his life in motion — across continents, careers, and the kind of places that leave a mark long after you leave them. As an amputee from childhood, he writes about resilience and the body and the people who show up when it matters with the authority of someone who has lived it. He draws his characters, settings, and stories from the life he has built and the lives he has witnessed.

An engineer by profession, Gideon spent decades building systems and solving problems before turning the same discipline toward the page. Having lived and worked in cities across multiple continents, he uses those places — their rhythms, their light, their particular silences — as the landscapes of his fiction.

He is the author of several published works. The Held Breath is his first novel.

Gideon lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Elaine.
