Award-winning author Sharon Marie Provost is a prolific writer in the horror genre and the chief operating officer of Dragon Crown Books Ltd., publisher of more than 50 books. Her first book, a collection of dark short stories titled "Shadow's Gate," was the winner of the 2025 Imadjinn Award for Best Short Story Collection. Her debut novel, "Dark Arts: Love Me Tinder," was released in the fall of 2024 to rave reviews. Her second solo collection of short stories, "Shades of Love, Vol. 2," was released in 2025.
Sharon served as the co-editor of "The ACES Anthology 2023," a project highlighting the works of Northern Nevada writers. Her short story "The Shining Night" appears in that volume and also appears in the 2023 release "Christmas Nightmare's Eve," coauthored with Stephen H. Provost. That work includes seven of her short stories and her novella, "The Last Train to Clarksville." The pair also collaborated on a Halloween-themed horror collection, "All Hallows' Nightmare's Eve," released in the summer of 2024, as well as the noir horror-thriller "Azrael's Assassin" and the cross-genre dark romantasy horror novel "Evermore," both in 2025. She also served as co-editor of and contributor to "The ACES Anthology 2024." .
In the summer of 2023, she wrote the foreword to "Sierra Highway: U.S. 395 and El Camino Sierra in California and Nevada," which she also helped to research. Other books for which she has provided research include "Victory Road," "The Lincoln Highway in California," "America's Loneliest Road," "Goldfield Century," and "Carson City Century," all by Stephen H. Provost on Dragon Crown Books.
Sharon is a longtime resident of Carson City, where she lives with her husband, and her pets. She worked for 20 years as a veterinary office manager and is the owner of champion of dog-trial poodles. You can find her at local craft fairs, on Facebook and Bluesky.
