I never thought of myself as an artist. It was after the birth of my son that I connected to my creative side. I found myself wanting to make a special gift for his first birthday. I decided to write down a story that had been rambling around in my head and attempted to illustrate it. With that, my first book “Mr. Bunnyman” was born. For the next five years I followed his milestones and took ideas from his own life, publishing a new book for each of his birthdays.
When he graduated to chapter books, I needed a new challenge and made a New Year’s resolution to paint. I picked up some acrylics and decided to give them a try. I fell in love with using vibrant color and working with paint. I gravitated towards painting animals and the challenge of capturing their spirit. I added to my menagerie of furry friends with a very personal collection that uses faces, flowers, and birds to express different pieces of me.
Here you can find my children's books and my notebooks that showcase some of my artwork.
