Cristen E. Rose

Cristen E. Rose writes gaslamp fantasy, steampunk, and gothic romance for adults, as well as magic rituals for fairies. Under the name Cristen Elizabeth Rose, she also writes and hand-illustrates fantasy stories and coloring books for younger readers and the young at heart, with a focus on whimsical worlds, cozy fantasy elements, and imaginative adventure.

Elizabeth is slightly obsessed with 80s fantasy films and hoards art supplies like a dragon, firm in her belief that one can never own too many shiny things.

When she’s not writing or drawing, she can be found gardening, painting, photographing butterflies, creating elaborate steampunk costumes, studying ceremonial magic, coloring with her son, and/or tending to the needs of a very opinionated tuxedo cat (the mascot of Happy Cat Press).

If presented with a proper doorway into a magical realm—preferably one involving dragons or unicorns—she would absolutely step through.
