Dr. Arun Chatterjee, is a Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He has been studying Philosophy and Religion for more than 40 years. He attended many courses on Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Tennessee. He has published several articles in various journals, and he also published a book titled Essays on Vedanta and Western Philosophies in 2017. Among Indian philosophies he studied the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo (1872 to 1959) and that of Bhagavad Gita in detail. Among western philosophers he studied Baruch Spinoza (1632 – 1677), Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 – 1860), and Existentialism, which includes the philosophies of Soren Kierkegaard and Jean Paul Sartre.
