Pauline Pilote Eby is the author of the unconventional spiritual memoir, An Angel, a Book, and a Secret. An avid student of religion and theology, she began examining issues of faith and doctrine as a Roman Catholic. As her search for truth progressed, she transitioned through agnosticism and atheism. Then she encountered the teachings of the Divine Principle which, unlike other theologies and dogmas, eschewed the incoherence, irrationality, and inconsistencies that had prevented her (and other atheists) from perceiving the presence of a loving God in the cosmos.
Continuing her formal studies in religion, the author earned an M.Div. degree from Union Theological Seminary. Pursuing her other interest (Slavic studies), she earned M.A. and M.Phil. degrees in Russian literature from Columbia University.
Ms. Eby is proud of her origins in the French-Canadian community of Lewiston, Maine and, for the past fifty years, has been an active member of the Unification Movement. The author, now a mother, grandmother, and retired educator, welcomes reader inquiry and dialogue.
