Julie Didion Wambold was born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio. She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and master’s degree in mental health counseling at Bowling Green State University. She began her authoring journey during a family gathering in 2023. Meet Mika was her first published work, then Mika is a Spy joined the collection. She draws on inspiration for the Mika Book Series directly from her daughter Madison, and from Madison’s lovey. A soft, cuddly raccoon who has been a companion to Madison since birth. How we pronounce Mika = My-ka, or Mi-cah.

Madison is the human referenced in all Mika stories. She is the inspiration for ideas and has helped to create the Mika book themes, through the storytelling eyes of a child. Her favorite role is the caretaker and cuddle friend of Mika. She is beginning to write the Mika stories on her own and will be listed as the primary author of future Mika books.

Using her experience as a mental health therapist, Julie began a path of creating a variety of simple, affordable, and fun activity books and mental health journals to encourage positive coping skills and self-care. In addition to low content starter journals and goal planners, she has worked to create low-cost memory journals and is launching a series of activity books to encourage conversation and healthy bonding within families.

The most recent addition to library of published works is Draw with Me 1. This is the first edition in a planned series of doodle bonding books. The aim is to have screen free, creative time that can encourage unique and artistic bonds between two or more individuals.

Illustrator Profile

Ezekial Didion was also born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio. Zeke is a student at Kent State University, majoring in visual communication design. He is nephew to Julie and cousin to Madison. Meet Mika was his first published illustration experience. Mika is a Spy being the second of his published works.
