Jennifer McCarty Plucker

Dr. Jen McCarty Plucker believes every young person can become a reader when they have the right book, meaningful choices, and space for curiosity to grow. A former teacher, reading specialist, and district administrator, Jen has spent more than twenty years helping educators create the conditions that move students from compliance to genuine engagement.

Today, she works with educators nationwide through Mackin Educational Resources and continues to champion adolescent literacy, student voice, and the power of books to help young people see themselves and the world differently. A past leader of the Minnesota Reading Association, Jen is the author of Inspiring Lifelong Readers: Using Inquiry to Engage Learners in Grades 6–12.

She lives in Minnesota with her family and an ever-growing stack of books she fully intends to read.
