Liza Hyatt

Liza Hyatt has been a poet all her life. Her poetry explores the theme of relationships broadly, from personal relationships to relationships to ancestors, the Earth, and the imagination. She is an art therapist, mental health counselor, spiritual director, and dreamwork practitioner. She also teaches art therapy graduate students at St. Mary of the Woods College. When not helping people heal from the impacts of our crazy world, she enjoys hiking, playing her harp, visiting with her adult daughter, and being at home with her goofy man, and their equally goofy black lab rescue dog. She is currently working on a series of nonfiction books inviting others to join her as an "Earth Monk" responding to the challenges our planet and humanity face in the 21st century. These books will explore how engaging in contemplative practice, creative reflection, and imagination can help us more maturely and compassionately respond to the challenges we face.
