Omari Bayi

Omari Bayi is a retired corporate executive from an IT company based in downtown Detroit. He attended Cass Technical High School, majoring in Computer Science and received his BA degree in History from Wayne State University.

He has six children and four grandchildren. Four of the six attended Cass Tech. Five of the six have graduated from University of Michigan or Wayne State University. All of the grandchildren will be attending a Michigan university by 2023.

An avid traveler, he has been to Europe, West Africa, India, Australia, and Mexico. Road trips throughout the United States have taken him as far away as Florida and California. Broadway in New York is one of his favorite venues. He has enjoyed Blues music in Nashville and New Orleans, travels to Chicago, Toronto and Cleveland for musicals plays, and has a subscription to classical concerts with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

A risk-taker, he has flown Cessnas solo, is a certified scuba diver, white-water rafted class-5 rivers in West Virginia and owned and rode Thoroughbred and Andalusian horses.

A life-long Detroiter, most of his professional career was in downtown Detroit. He continues to reside in the city.

Michael is one of six novels he has completed since he began writing in 2019. It is his first publication.
