Cliff Martin

After a career as a journalist on several national newspapers over more than 30 years I've now decided to indulge my passion for children's books by writing one of my own. The storyline for Help! Children Have Taken Over the World was inspired by two things: the daydream that all children must have had about what they would do if they controlled the world, and my strong belief that adults in power are so often letting down young people. The Daily Mail review of my book said: 'Fans of David Walliams will revel in Cliff Martin's anarchic humour, exaggerated characters and fast pace, while the sudden twist in the tale leaves the story on a cliffhanger.'

I live in Ealing, West London, with my wife and three children and my hobbies include studying history, hiking in the West Country, pottery, cooking and supporting my local team, Brentford FC. The most random fact about myself is that although a very average footballer I once captained a team to a 4-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC.
