Milas Hanson

Milas Hanson is the author of Healing Your Hurting Inner Child.

He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Psychology, with a view to eventually obtaining his doctorate in Child Psychology.

As a teen, Milas suffered from anxiety after his father passed away in a work accident. Around this time, Milas was lucky to cross paths with a school counselor who generously listened to him and recommended resources, unwittingly sparking a passion for psychology and self-help in her student.

Milas was fascinated by cognitive-behavioral therapy and the idea that your negative filters can cloud reality and affect the way you feel and behave. He was surprised to discover how simply changing one behavior could make a big difference in how he thought and felt about situations that had been causing him distress.

Inspired by the knowledge that helped him survive one of the toughest times in his life, Milas began studying psychology, developing an interest in child psychology and shadow work, as espoused by Carl Jung. He wanted to help others the way his school counselor had helped him, sharing skills that children and young adults needed to lead a happy life.

Milas lives in San Diego, California, with his wife Jessica and their children Maria, 4, and Elijah, 2. When he’s not reading and writing, he enjoys kitesurfing, wakeboarding, and going for brisk walks with his pet dog, Zelda.
