Since an early age I have been fascinated by totalitarian regimes and the ways in which they use utopian dreams to subvert people’s sense of morality. My book is an exploration of this theme. It has been a longstanding ambition of mine to become an author, but it wasn’t until I returned to university later in life that I felt able to write coherently. I have had a varied career including working as a journalist, investing money for a pension fund, as an academic. I live in Kent with my husband and son.
