(Writer on wargaming) Henry Hyde

Henry is a creative writer, podcaster and publisher. Involved in the wargaming hobby since the late 1960s, he launched his Battlegames blog in 1998. This became a ‘real’ magazine in 2006, when he launched his bi-monthly publication to international acclaim.

Henry continued editing magazines until 2016, then launched his successful Patreon site in 2018, creating podcasts and videos alongside blog posts.

His first book, "The Wargaming Compendium", was published by Pen & Sword in 2013 and became an instant best-seller. This was followed in 2022 by the highly acclaimed and equally weighty “Wargaming Campaigns”, after which he decided to return to self-publishing

Since then, he has produced more books for wargamers under his Gladius Publications imprint. Many more titles are planned, both for the historical and fantasy gaming and roleplay communities.

Henry lives in Brighton and Hove on the south coast of England. You can find him as Battlegames on Patreon, BlueSky and Instagram.
