Ronit Chernitzky

Ronit Chernitzky was born in Mexico and lives in Panama with her husband, four children, and three dogs. A case of the flu became septic shock, costing her her right hand, the fingers of her left hand, both feet, and more than fifty surgeries since.

Today she walks on prosthetics, drives, travels, and speaks about resilience, grief, and reinvention to companies, hospitals, and communities across Latin America. Her story is part of Faces of Sepsis, Sepsis Alliance's survivor archive.

She wrote A Fly or a Butterfly because she believes anyone, in any circumstance, can contribute something to the world, and that you should not have to survive four amputations before you stop postponing your life. The book is also available in Spanish as ENTRE ALAS and in Hebrew.
