Emmanuelle Cordoliani

Emmanuelle Cordoliani graduated from the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in 1998. She then entered the Nomade Institute of Directing.

After leaving the CNSAD, Emmanuelle has taken on a triple activity of acting, directing and writing.

Since 2002, Emmanuelle Cordoliani has been teaching lyric art at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. There and within the scope of her teaching, she has created and directed numerous projects.

Last two years, Emmanuelle was busy conducting a research project La Bonne cause : Of representation of servants in French opera in the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries, that was concluded last april by two days of international symposium, an exhibition of portraits of the cleaning team from both CNSMDP and Opera Comique, and performances of the show, she had written for her own students inspired by the research itself : Autopsie du Domestique : Contre-enquête.

Emmanuelle is the creator and community manager of Une Certaine Dose de poésie, active on Facebook for almost a decade.

She is a regular member of the Tiers Livre, writing workshop of François Bon. She is currently founding a small edition house : Les fées fâchées.

In 2012, her first libretto, adaptating the Grimms' tale "The Maid with no hands" received a grant from La Fondation Beaumarchais.

Since, she has written a trilogy of tale-operas, including the previous, The Beast and the Beauty, and Hansel and Gretel.

Between 2011 and 2017 Emmanuelle worked regularly in Bulgaria, first as opera director in Varna and Stara Zagora, following an invitation by l'Institut français de Sofia, then touring her own adaptation of The Triple Correspondence of Rilke, Pasternack and Tsvetaieva, in which she also performs the part of the poetess.
