Lula Crowder

Lula Crowder is a bohemian of the highest order. Classically trained, she has presented her work in the salons of New York, San Francisco, Savannah Ga., and elsewhere. Her book illustrations are best known for appearing in manilla envelopes tucked into library editions and borrowed collections as gifts to future readers. Inspired by artists as diverse as Wanda Gag, Ray Johnson, Mika Rotenberg, Lebbeus Woods, and Mike Kelley, her drawings always add a fresh and at times winningly critical dimension.
