Ellet Joseph Waggoner

Wagoner was a Christian theologian, writer, and preacher. He is known for his prominent role in the Adventist movement in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Wagoner was born in Illinois, USA, and grew up as a Seventh-day Adventist. At a young age, he displayed an extraordinary aptitude for education and Bible studies. In 1884, he moved to England and became editor of The Present Truth magazine, which was an Adventist publication. His presence in England greatly influenced the Adventist community there.

One of Wagoner's greatest contributions was his involvement in the theological debate on Justification by Faith. Together with A.T. Jones, he played a key role in highlighting the importance of faith in accepting God's grace in the Christian life, rather than relying solely on good works or self-judgment. This theological view became significant in the Adventist church environment and helped shape their views of theology and salvation.

His notable works include "The Glad Tidings" and "Christ and His Righteousness," in which he highlights the importance of living faith in the life of a believer.
