Anne Boykin

An accomplished artist and calligrapher who spent 30 years in Austin, Texas, Anne Boykin returned to her home town of College Station, Texas in 2004. She quickly made her mark working for the City of College Station creating Project HOLD -- an historic online library database dedicated to historic preservation efforts. In 2011, Anne joined the Texas A&M University Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) as a graphic designer. There, she won four national awards for her book designs. Her freelance work includes military maps for four military historians/authors.

Anne's expertise is evident in noted public installations of 38 historical interpretive panels for area parks: The Lynn Stuart Pathway at Veterans Park in College Station, Texas and and Boonville Heritage Park in Bryan, Texas. While working for TEEX, Anne designed two 45 foot historical timelines of the noted Brayton Fire Training Field and the OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Mesquite, Texas.

The first Christmas Chameleon was published in 2017. The second edition is the first book combined with a companion coloring book and games. Miss Doofey Opossum was published in the spring of 2018.

In 2019, Anne republished her mother's, Rosemary DePasquale Boykin's, historical research of the Italians who settled in Steele's Store, Texas, along with a series of oral history interviews. This book is available on Amazon as "The Italians of Steele's Store, Texas". Rosemary also researched and published "The DePasquales--from Italy/Sicily to Texas" some years ago. Anne and her mother republished the bok and Anne recently reformatted and published the latest edition in 2019. This book is also available on Amazon. Rosemary's "Birds of Passage", an annotated listing of Italian immigrants who departed Plaermo, Sicily and arrived in the Port of New Orleans, Louisiana, 1859-1901, is a transcription of 23,975 immigrants' names, families, and many other details. Anne sells this massive piece of research on a flash drive.

Currently, Anne is working on a childhoood memoir, "To Get To Here, a Journey through My Childhood 1953-1963" due out this Christmas, 2023. Soon, Anne will republish her father's, Calvin C. Boykin, Jr.'s, book "Gere Le Bete, a History of the 814th Tank Destroyer Battalion" and his monograph "General A.D. Bruce, the Father of Fort Hood".
