I enjoy writing; it is my way of relaxing and processing thoughts, feelings and moments. Writing is an amazing escape, we can transport ourselves to far away places, both real and imagined. We can write things that maybe we'd never be brave enough to say. We can surprise ourselves with words that seem to appear from nowhere as we write.
I have been blessed with family, friends and fellowship that has encouraged my writing. I particularly enjoy real-time writing -where I listen to someone signing or playing music and respond immediately. As a Christian I often do this in a worship context so my writing usually has a faith theme and prayer-like in style.
Being new to sharing my work, I have started with a series called 'Words of Worship'. These books are mainly poetic in structure with some short stories. My goal is not to write something perfect but rather share something honest. If the words I write enable the reader to feel something unique to them, or inspire a more deeper, creative thought I will be happy. If readers can improve an offering I have made, I'd welcome reading it too! My work is published under a creative comms licence to allow it to be part of a much bigger story!
More work will be published beyond poetry as time allows. I live in a place called Staffordshire, in the United Kingdom, with my amazing family. I am a member of the Beacon House of Prayer in Stoke-on-Trent. By day I work as a management consultant with non-profit organisations. To calm my thoughts I run up and down trails, hills and fells. To appreciate the journey of life I am blessed with some amazing lifelong friends. To have hope, I believe in the message of Jesus Christ.
