Dr. Renae Reinardy

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Renae M. Reinardy, PsyD is the founder and director of the Lakeside Center for Behavioral Change. She is the program developer of CourageCritters.com, a skills-focused online and plush animal system to help children effectively cope with fear, anxiety, and unwanted behaviors. Dr. Reinardy specializes in the evidence-based treatment of body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, hoarding disorder, Tourette syndrome, and related disorders.

Dr. Reinardy is a faculty member of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) for the International OCD Foundation. She is the co-founder of OCD Twin Cities and serves as clinical faculty at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

She is an author of The BFRB Recovery Workbook: A Step-By-Step Guide to Effective Recovery from Hair Pulling, Skin Picking, Nail Biting, and Other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors. Dr. Reinardy also produced a DVD titled, Information about Compulsive Hoarding.

Dr. Reinardy holds a doctorate in clinical psychology with a concentration in integrative psychotherapy and childhood mental health. She began her clinical training at Springfield Hospital Center, Chase Brexton Heath Clinic, and the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington. Dr. Reinardy has served as a faculty member of the TLC Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors Professional Training Institute (PTI). She has instructed doctoral studies in cognitive behavioral theory and therapy and has been a guest lecturer at many academic institutions.

Dr. Reinardy is an internationally recognized expert in her areas of specialty and is a frequent keynote speaker, professional presenter, and media contributor. She has appeared on Good Morning America, the Joy Behar Show, Dateline NBC, A&E’s Hoarders, North Dakota Today, and other national and regional news broadcasts. She has been interviewed and quoted in numerous media sources including the Los Angeles Times, Wired Magazine, and Oprah Magazine. She was honored in 2019 as the National Mother of the Year® for her advocacy work in childhood mental health and has served as a delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
