A Mellon-Foundation Grant recipient for fiction writing, Dana Burnell has lived in London, Paris, Boston and Galway, Ireland. Her jobs have varied from motorcycle delivery person to waitress to audiobook narrator to production manager. Dana also worked at New Yorker Films and was a co-founder of Firewater Films. Her writing has appeared in the London Times Sunday Magazine, The Guardian Weekend Magazine, Time Out New York, Show Business Weekly and others. Dana was a contributing associate for Harvard Review and received an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University. Dana lives in New York City and The Tame Man is her first novel. Her next book is a noir about a woman obsessed with the classic film star Barbara Stanwyck.
