In the early 1970's my mother, Emilie A. Frank, worked at the Dunsmuir News newspaper. There, she discovered her niche for researching the mystical happenings and hidden legends that surround our majestic Mount Shasta, of which those articles were published in all the local newspapers. She then gathered her baffling stories and wrote this book, 'Mt. Shasta, California's Mystic Mountain.'

I was born and raised in Mt. Shasta, California, and grew up at the base of Quail Hill off of Washington Drive, I was a happy free range kid. Later my husband and I raised two great kids, and we have never left our beautiful mysterious mountain. For many years, I have pondered the idea of a children's adventure book with these same curious stories and events. With this book, I now join my mother's world of writing, wordsmithing, poets, and authorship.
