Susan Elizabeth Trott

Susan Trott is a Canadian writer whose work moves between the practical and the poetic — from animal care guides and journals to reflective fiction and visionary storytelling.

Her early books, including My Pet’s Health Record and My Password Keeper, grew from everyday life — a love of animals, organization, and creative problem-solving. Over time, her writing expanded into short stories and lyrical works that explore the connections between nature, memory, and the quiet wonder of being human.

Through Tagger Press, the independent studio she co-founded with her husband Jim, she now publishes a growing range of books — from the Pet Health series to The Oak Witness, King of Dams, and her newest speculative series, The Arvidan Chronicles.

She lives near Ottawa with Jim, a lively family of rescued cats, and a pond full of koi.
