“Moxie Gardiner” is the pen name of a writer, blogger, traveler, Master Gardener and (soon to be) Master Naturalist. The name “Moxie” was first bestowed upon her during a rare visit to an upscale bar late one night in her native Buffalo, NY, as a back-handed compliment by the posh regulars attempting to politely describe her rather rough West Side edges (which she still wears proudly to this day). She does have a soft side, too, however. She loves the smell of warm wood, the sound of insects in the evening, islands too small for cruise ships, and the underbellies of airplanes when they fly over the setting sun.
After graduating from Buffalo State University College, she moved to Washington, DC to pursue a career in journalism and a master's degree from American University. She has written more than 100 speeches, authored and edited countless magazine articles, and faithfully scribbled in her personal journals for the past two decades. To date, she has traveled to 46 countries and all 50 states, and still has a lengthy bucket list of places to see and things to do, including books to write. Virgin Snow is her first novel.
