Steve Gaddis

Steve Gaddis is a lifelong compulsive scribbler who started off as an Army brat, born in Arkansas, then off to Hawaii and Western New York before moving to Sparks, Nevada in the late 60's. He was mostly self-taught, taking art classes and combing through art books at the library. After several years of night classes, while working full-time as a dental technician, he graduated in 2002 with a degree in graphic communications from Truckee Meadows Community College. He's created medieval clothing, armor, calligraphy and illumination projects and heraldic design as a member of the SCA and illustrations and costumes as a member of the Mythopoeic Society, a fantasy literature group. He's partial to the works of Tim Kirk, Alphonse Mucha, Harry Clarke and Rene Magritte, but the main inspiration for the many pen textures in this book was from Edward Gorey. This book was his first attempt at creating a full set of illustrations.
