Rachel Lyn

Hi there, I am Dr. Rachel Lyn, creator of the new book IF I WERE AN ALIEN, I WOULD... I have my Doctorate in Educational Leadership, and almost 30 years in education. I am fascinated with the topic of aliens, especially in modern times. My new book is a great way to introduce aliens to young children while also helping them to be more confident and fluent readers. Writing a children's book has been a wonderful process. My goal throughout the development of the book has always been to encourage children of all ages to read, to be inspired by what they are reading, activate their imagination along the way, explore all possibilities, celebrate differences, and most of all, to laugh while reading a great book.

My lovely granddaughter inspired me to write this book. She is so inquisitive, asking so many questions, and is always looking up to see what is in the night sky. My talented daughter (her mother) helped me a great deal with the final edits of the book, and also creating a social media presence. They were both skeptical about the ending of the book, but I love it!

I live in wonderful Pennsylvania, love to teach, do research, as well as enjoy helping others to be their best selves!
