Since early childhood, I've been an avid student of the American Revolutionary War and of the founding fathers of the American political system. My passion for this period in history was rivaled only by my love of the game of baseball. My childhood heroes included the unlikely combination of John Adams and Jackie Robinson.
Following these dual passions, I majored in political science with an emphasis in international relations at UCLA, where I also played for the Bruins baseball team. After earning a master's degree in finance and accounting from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago, I've enjoyed a 30+ year career in the investment advisory industry.
My first novel, Privateer, was a wonderful experience combining my love of writing and my passion for the American Revolutionary War era. What started as a bedtime story for my children became an adventure novel with their spirited encouragement. My writing was a welcomed after-hours sanctuary from the challenges of the investment markets, and along the way, I rediscovered my admiration for the conviction, sacrifice and brave leadership of so many during our nation's inception.
In my free time, I enjoy surfing, playing guitar, reading, writing, traveling and spending time with my wife at our home in California.
