Andrea Lampros

Andrea Lampros is the Communications Director at the UC Berkeley School of Education, where she oversees communications and media relations to amplify the school's work for excellence and equity in education. Andrea spent nine years at UC Berkeley's award-winning Human Rights Center, where she was the Associate Director, co-founder of the Human Rights Center Investigations Lab, and Resiliency Manager. Prior to joining the Human Rights Center, she worked on grassroots initiatives related to U.S. policy in Central America and immigrant and refugee rights. She earned her master's degree at Berkeley Journalism and spent more than a decade working as a newspaper reporter, magazine editor, and freelance writer. She contributed a chapter about the labor movement to The Real Las Vegas: Life Beyond the Strip (Oxford University Press) and a chapter about the use of DNA in El Salvador’s search for disappeared children to Silent Witness: Forensic DNA Evidence in Criminal Investigations and Humanitarian Disasters (Oxford University Press). With Alexa Koenig, she co-authored Graphic: Trauma and Meaning in Our Online Lives, forthcoming from Cambridge University Press in 2023.
