Andreas Farmann

Andreas Farmann, born in 1977 in the European Alps, now lives between Berlin, Tenerife and Hawaii. Since childhood he has been fascinated by the worlds of High Fantasy and Science Fiction.

His work is an eclectic mix between Alternate History, Sword&Sorcery and socially critical Science Fiction. In creating the world of Gaia for his "High Priestesses of Lemuria" cycle, he has unveiled a diverse universe centered on an Earth that resembles our own in the 16th century - but only just.

Atlantean and alien high technology find their place alongside Spanish treasure galleons, the Templars of Rhodes meet Lemurian High Priestesses, sorcerers travel through magical portals, and Spanish King Philip II - known to students of history as one of the driving forces behind the exploitation of the "New World" - becomes the Ottoman Sultan of Granada and assumes a whole new role.

"My work is inspired by classic sources such as the Indian Mahabharata epic and the Iliad, but also includes homages to my own favorite high fantasy authors, including J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King, Robert Jordan and Tad Williams - and not least, the pirate novels I used to devour as a teenager," says the author. His books turn all that into something completely original, and are therefore a treasure trove for fantasy enthusiasts of all ages.
