Sarah Elizabeth Moreman

Originally of Auburn, Alabama, Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Moreman is a Creative Communications Consultant and Adjunct English Professor from Birmingham, Alabama.

Dr. Moreman earned her doctorate in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama, where she conducted research on her journey to becoming a college teacher through writing. Dr. Moreman also holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in American Literature, as well a double minor in Business and History, from Auburn University.

She is an expert in creative communication strategies, disability awareness and inclusivity, ADA compliance, student-teacher interaction, editing, and writing. Dr. Moreman was recognized as the Spear Hero in the Vulcans Community Awards 2020 (https://youtu.be/JfEBBfWuj9Q) and spoke at TEDxBirmingham 2018 on turning frustration into learning opportunities for better communication (https://www.drsarahelizabethmoreman.com/tedbhm). With her heavy involvement in the Junior League of Birmingham (JLB), she takes on multiple roles ranging from editorship to grant writing and serving as the Assistant to the JLB President.

Born profoundly bisensorineural deaf and in the year 1980, Dr. Moreman grew up without the technology that we have nowadays such as social media and smart phones. She is thankful for her upbringing as an Xennial, which she uses to share her knowledge and creative communication strategies through personal and professional experiences. She recently published a collection of poems titled | Reclaiming Calla Lilies | as part of her healing journey from a previous chapter in her life. She submitted another collection of poems about her experiences as an individual with hearing impairment.
