Mahitosh Mandal
Dr Mahitosh Mandal works at the intersections of psychoanalysis, trauma, caste, and cultural memory. His research examines how literature, music, and popular media engage with questions of power, identity, resistance, and representation.
He is the author of Jacques Lacan: From Clinic to Culture (Orient BlackSwan, 2018) and the co-editor of Dalit Studies: Key Terms and Concepts (Routledge, 2026) and Holocaust vs. Popular Culture: Interrogating Incompatibility and Universalization (Routledge, 2024).
His monograph, Lacanian Non-Rapport in the Novels of John Fowles: Impossible Relationships, is forthcoming with Routledge (2026).
His work has appeared in leading peer-reviewed journals and has been presented at international conferences and summer schools in India and Europe.
He has received the European Commission’s Seal of Excellence (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) and grants from OSUN, the Lower Saxony Memorial Foundation, and UCL.
