Jim Hanson

Jim Hanson is a sociologist and retired Senior Researcher of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale who has taught sociology and community development, also has worked in community and economic development. He is a lay-ordinated Zen Buddhist and lives in the St. Louis area.

He is a member of the St. Louis Poetry Center and Illinois State Poetry Society Southern Chapter. Single poems have appeared in some thirty websites and printings, including a chapbook. Book-length collections include: Endless Journey: Poems in Search of Meaning published in 2022 by Spartan Press, Ruminations: Poems on Living and Dying published by Cyberwit Press in 2023, and Perspectives: Educational Poems on the Humanities and Sciences published by Resource Publications in 2023.
