Elizabeth Townsend Gard

Elizabeth Townsend Gard is the John E. Koerner Endowed Professor of Law at Tulane University, where she teaches trademark, copyright, entrepreneurship, art/craft law, and social media. She is also an avid quilter and the host of the Just Wanna Quilt podcast.

She received her Ph.D. in Cultural History from UCLA and her J.D/LL.M. from the University of Arizona. In addition to Tulane, she has taught law at the London School of Economics, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Seattle University School of Law. She has been published in Vanderbilt Law Review, Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, the Journal of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A., Columbia Journal of Law & the Arts, and Santa Clara Computer & High Technology Law Journal.

For the last decade, she has worked with artists, makers, crafters, and law students to teach skills both need to succeed in the entrepreneurial space. And every night, she quilts.
