Thaddeus D Hicks

Thad Hicks is an emergency management academic and practitioner. Thad currently works as a Professor of Emergency Management at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (www.MVNU.edu). In addition to his time as a EM professor, he serves as a trainer and principal consultant with Erie Emergency and Crisis Consulting (www.erieprep.com).

Thad has spent almost 25 years as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer, earned a Master’s degree in Conflict Transformation, and a PhD in Intercultural Studies. He is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), and a Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP).

When not training or writing, he enjoys woodcraft, playing with his young children, and collecting antique cookie jars.
