I am a mother of 2 and a homeschool teacher. I run a homeschool co-op called Soaring Eagles. I am a photographer and graphic designer by trade and have been for over 20 years. I am also dyslexic and ADHD and have been studying dyslexia as well as ADHD for several decades. I started homeschooling because it was a better option for dyslexics than public school. They generally are not properly equipped to give children who struggle with reading the tools to become better readers. I favor the Orton Gillingham method when it comes to teaching reading, writing, and spelling and believe that hands on activities are the best way to teach. Our co-op teaches other subjects, but the main focus is on reading, writing, and spelling since that is the foundation for all other learning.
