Wendy Nelson draws on her personal convictions and life experiences in the Watch, Lone Sparrow series, which explores faith, resilience, and the courage to stand firm in uncertain times. Set against the backdrop of rural life, these stories weave together family, community, and spiritual truth in a world on the brink of change.

Wendy is the owner of MediaTek Grafx, a full-service advertising agency she founded in 2001. Her career included collaborations with businesses, churches, utilities, counterterrorism efforts, schools, and nonprofit organizations. Today, MediaTek Grafx also serves as the publisher for Wendy’s Christian books.

Wendy has been married to David for 47 years. Throughout their marriage, they dreamed of building a cabin on 30 acres in the hills of Kentucky—a place to live simply, prioritize what matters, and escape the decline of society. God fulfilled that dream when they met an Amish man selling 43 acres of land in Kentucky. It was no accident; it was God’s plan.Their adventure began with building a cabin in the middle of the forest—without water. That “forest escape” became reality. Today, Wendy and her retired husband are learning as they go, building a sustainable homestead to live entirely off the land. They have two married sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren. Wendy is now semi-retired, balancing writing, teaching, and homesteading.
