Josephine H. Hicks

Josephine Hicks lives in Charlotte, N.C. She practiced law as a litigator for 30 years before joining the staff of a faith-based nonprofit organization. Originally from Greenwood, South Carolina, she graduated from The University of the South (Sewanee) and Vanderbilt University Law School. Daughter and spouse of Episcopal priests, she is active in the Episcopal Church and in the Anglican Communion. This book is born of her experience as the primary caregiver for her partner during almost four years with pancreatic cancer. Following her partner’s death, she founded Spell the End of Cancer, a Scrabble event to raise money for cancer research. In hopes of eliminating many of the occasions for saying “if there’s anything I can do,” part of the proceeds of this book’s sales will be donated to cancer research.
