Elisabeth Hottel

Elisabeth is a children’s author and optometrist who began her writing career in 2022. She imagined what her newborn son could be dreaming after flipping through his tiny fabric book of ocean creatures and created her first book, “When You Dream about the Ocean.”

She loves working with talented illustrators who have the ability to bring her imagination to life with whimsical illustrations that will awe children and their parents alike. Inspired by unique subjects, worldly travels, and living in the New Mexican desert, she plans to explore many more worlds with her readers. She aims to empower children and parents about the psychological effects of eye disease and how to prevent vision loss through children’s books and her optometry YouTube channel, Dr. Elisabeth.

Elisabeth loves daily walks, frequent hikes, and occasional travels with her husband and sons.
