Danna Piroyansky

Danna Piroyansky was born in Israel to a family of Argentinian origin. She completed her PhD at the University of London and published her first work ("Martyrs in the Making: Political Martyrdom in Late Medieval England", Palgrave Macmillan, 2008) three years later. After returning to Israel and lecturing on the Middle Ages she was invited to write an Open University textbook (in Hebrew), focusing on the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries ("On the Edge of the New Age: Europe 1600- 1350", Open University, 2014–2015). She also published "Ramle Remade: The Israelisation of an Arab Town, 1948-1967" (Pardes, 2014), examining urban Israeli history in mixed towns. Her first fiction book, "Missus Jesus: a novel", has just been published.

She lives in Tel Aviv with her husband, two children and aging dog, and loves to go to the beach.
