I live in the Sonoran Desert, apparently unafraid of 122° some afternoons. To cool off ... visits to the North Atlantic seashore and the Rockies above Evergreen. May in New York City.

Always a return to a studio in the desert ... Klimt and Sargent on the wall, books and films about ballet on the shelf, and ridiculously expensive coffee in the kitchen. No cats so far.

I have always been immoderate. Early on, as a journalist, fiction writer and composer, I heard: “It’s too much,” or "Are you for real? Calm down."

I switched to less disturbing work until I got the gumption to write these immoderate books. Right away, some readers became upset. To my joy, however, I have found my believers. They are okay with tales of achievers going for all the marbles, falling in love and having intimate sex.

The readers frowning at me usually claim "it's too explicit." However, after coaxing it out of them, they often admit it’s the emotional risking that feels like “too much.”

Oh, I nearly forgot to give my bio information! I grew up in Buffalo, NY, went to school – WAIT. Do you really care about that?
