Keely Grand spent the entirety of her education with undiagnosed ADHD and anxiety. Lazy, spacey, shy, and disorganized were just some of the words that she heard on a regular basis. These felt negative to her and although she figured out how to work around her differences, the neurotypical world was mostly a perpetual challenge.
In high school Keely discovered running, which built her confidence and lessened her anxiety, and was encouraged to pursue writing by her creative writing teacher. Although tested in college, Keely didn’t learn about her diagnoses till she was 40 years old. Even still, Keely earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Rhode Island College and a master’s degree in health communications from Emerson College. She has also earned several certifications in health and wellness, allowing her to apply all of the things she loves to her work.
Her first book, Troublemakers & Superpowers, was written for her kids and all the people in the world who don’t feel like they fit in, who live with differences that can both disrupt their life and propel them forward, and for people seeking to feel connected to others.
