Born on May 22, 1982, in the vibrant city of Curitiba, Brazil, Carlos Fernando Nunes, known artistically as Carlos Nunes, displayed an innate artistic flair from a tender age. His early years were marked by drawings and "scribbles" that foreshadowed a creative and expressive mind. His journey into writing began in his youth, a period that also saw his first forays into music and student theater, shaping his understanding of art as a powerful vehicle for communication.

In 1996, Carlos discovered that writing poems and songs offered a refuge and a stage to express his opinions, confront displeasures, navigate weariness and internal conflicts, and celebrate his achievements. This epiphany solidified his path as a multifaceted artist: bassist, vocalist, composer, and writer. His musical journey is highlighted by his involvement with notable bands like Aqueronte, Motorbastards, Carttada, and Motorspades. These projects propelled him to international recognition, taking him on tours and into intense studio work across the globe.

A chemist by training and a skeptic of religious institutions, Carlos Nunes has since fully dedicated himself to his artistic career. He also maintains a parallel role as an environmental consultant, specializing in chemistry and environmental management. This unique blend of scientific precision and creative freedom imbues his work with a distinct perspective.

Currently, Carlos is diving deeper into the world of literature. His inspirations and influences are unmistakably rooted in the Romantic authors of the "Mal du Siècle" (Sickness of the Century). A self-proclaimed bohemian, he considers himself one of the remaining "Poètes Maudits" (Accursed Poets) of that literary period, characterized by the sharp wit and incisiveness of his words. Yet, his writing stands out for its remarkable accessibility, frequently employing the colloquial and everyday language of the streets and alleys he often explores, creating a direct bridge to the reader.

A significant milestone in his literary and intellectual journey is his distinction as an "Imortal" (Immortal) of the Brazilian Academy of Letters, Paraná section. This prestigious recognition solidifies his substantial contributions and relevance within the Brazilian cultural and literary landscape.

Following the success of four albums released with his bands, Carlos Nunes now presents his first solo literary volume, "Segredos, Sussurros e Escarros" (Secrets, Whispers, and Spittle). This work offers a powerful initial glimpse into the vast universe he still has to express, inviting readers on a journey that extends from the depths of his "tormented" mind to the boldest frontiers of imagination.
