Hillary Slater

My name is Hillary Slater and I am an Early Childhood Education Major. I have been teaching for the past two years and It has been an amazing experience. I got my inspiration for my story book, I’m Gnomber One from my students. I wanted to create a fun social emotional learning story that could teach my students that while competition can be fun, it not the most important thing. I live in Spokane Washington and I have since I was three years old. I have always had a dream of writing my own book and this has been a dream come true. When you read the story I hope you can find joy in the story line and that young learners can learn the message in the story.
