About Catherine

Having left London at 19, Catherine fell in love with the beautiful south coast of Britain, where she settled, started a family and found a place she was truly happy to call home. Today, she is a teaching assistant, but her lifelong passion for writing has never faded. Determined to nurture her creativity and hone her craft, she completed two courses with GEA, taking the next steps towards her dream of becoming an author.

A Very Tiny Adventure is Catherine’s debut novel and the first in an exciting trilogy filled with fun, adventure and a heartfelt celebration of inclusion. She has now released book two and three, A Very Tiny Adventure -New Forest and A Very Tiny Adventure -London.

Inclusion has always been close to Catherine’s heart. Growing up with friends whose siblings had disabilities, working with a child with additional needs, and having a daughter with type 1 diabetes and a nephew with autism have all helped shape her belief that every child deserves to see themselves represented in the stories they read.

For A Very Tiny Adventure, Catherine worked closely with a Reach ambassador from the charity Reach, which supports people with upper limb differences. Together, they helped ensure that her character, Litla, was portrayed both accurately and authentically, without losing any of her magic.

Litla may have a little arm, but that doesn’t stop her from being kind, caring and a fierce hero. She is proof that being different doesn’t mean being limited — and that even the smallest among us can do extraordinary things, including saving the world!

Through her stories, Catherine hopes to inspire young readers to embrace differences, celebrate individuality and discover that adventure is for everyone.
