I'm Nicholas Cooke, also known by my signature -- N.J. Cooke, a writer and university student stemming from North Carolina, USA. Writing has lived within my blood all my life, but I realized its art when I was around eight years old. In being raised by a writer—I was no stranger to the worlds that can exist in my words. Being surrounded by social disparities, my writing has always been a place to turn to for beauty and digest.

This journey into poetry deepened during my high school years. Though limited, I did experience success when participating in writing contests here and there. Little wins and happenstances all fueled my motivation to continue writing poetry as a leisure pursuit. Naturally, I learned to delve into a broader spectrum of themes—the very topics you find within these pages. Love, loss, and the profound lessons and beauty encapsulated in stories of life—all of which have become a lens through which I see the world.
