Bobbi Chegwyn: Author of the Radical Ray Series
Bobbi Chegwyn is an Australian-born author living in a small town in Ohio, where she once drove a school bus full of third and fourth graders. What she found there was the inspiration for the Radical Ray children's book series: kids who were smart, open, and ready to receive something, if only someone would give it to them in the right way.
After nearly twenty years working in human behaviour, Bobbi now writes stories for children aged 7 to 13 that tackle the emotional realities kids face before the teenage years hit. Not through worksheets or lesson plans, but through a character they actually want to follow.
The Radical Ray series follows Ray Roxby across four books: kindness in action, a father's return after years away, being told you are too much, and grief. The most personal book is the fourth, No Greater Love, drawn from Bobbi's own experience of losing her mother at sixteen and carrying that loss for nearly forty years before writing it down.
The series has received a five-star Readers Favorite award and is endorsed by a licensed therapist and a parents of boys coach.
At home, Bobbi is happily outnumbered by three dogs, Lizzie, Lottie, and Peppa, and believes that getting the right story into the right child's hands at the right moment can change everything.
