Russ Dean

Russ Dean has been co-pastor of Park Road Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, along with his wife, Amy, since 2000. He holds degrees from Furman University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Beeson Divinity School. His latest book, “The Power of the God Who Can’t: God always does everything God can do,” was published by Wipf & Stock. He has also published, “Finding a New Way Home: the unlikely path of a reluctant Baptist renegade” (Good Faith Media), and contributed to “Taking on the Cross: Reimagining the Meaning of Jesus' Life and Death.” A series of sermons from the Gospel of Mark, preached by Russ and Amy, is being published in the Smyth and Helwys series called, “Preaching the Word.” He has been a contributing writer for Baptist News Global since 2016. Russ and Amy are parents of two sons, Jackson (wife Madison and grandson, Walker) and Bennett. Russ is active in social justice ministries and interfaith dialogue and enjoys wood working, playing and listening to jazz, slalom and barefoot water skiing, hiking and camping.
